Jackie Mittoo (3 March 1948 – 16 December 1990)

Jamaican-Canadian Songwriter, Musical Director and Keyboardist, Jackie Mittoo, worked as a Musical Director at Studio One and also was a member of The Skatalites, The Sheiks, The Soul Brothers, The Soul Vendors and Soul Dimension. Cameroonian Saxophone Player and Vibraphone Player, Manu Dibango, is regarded for his fusion of Jazz, Funk and Traditional Cameroonian music. His song "Soul Makossa" was used by Michael Jackson to create "Wanna be starting something". He remains active after almost 50 years in the industry. Avant-Garde Jazz Saxophonist, John Gilmore, spent his years working with Sun Ra, though some considered his talent to be as superb as John Coltrane and Sonny Rollins.
