Edward Lee Floyd (born June 25, 1937)

Soul - R&B Singer and Songwriter, Eddie Floyd, founded The Falcons, which were forerunners to The Temptations and The Four Tops. He wrote songs at Stax Records for other Artists (Carla  Thomas, Wilson Pickett, Booker T & the MGs, Otis Redding, Sam & Dave, Rufus Thomas, Johnnie Taylor and others) during the 1960's and 1970's and also garnered a solo R&B number 1 hit. He continued on with a successful solo career. Poet, Songwriter, Musician, Actor, Educator, Radio Talk Show Host, Mutabaruka (Rwandan Kinyarwanda language translated to English means "One who is always victorious), began his career in the early 1970's after working for the Jamaica Telephone Company (he studied electronics while at school). He was raised an Roman Catholic and changed to the Rastafarian Movement. He also changed his diet and stopped wearing shoes. His works were first published in magazines and he then went on to recording and performing live and scored a number of hits. Johnny Lamont Merrett (born Feb. 11, 1943 – May 17, 2002)

Blues and Soul Singer, Little Johnny Taylor, recorded during the 1960's and 1970's. He is sometimes confused with Johnnie Taylor, whom also recorded during the same period.
