Jazz Greats: Chick Webb

William Henry Webb (February 10, 1905 – June 16, 1939)

Drummer, Chick Webb, influenced Art Blakey and Duke Ellington and gave Ella Fitzgerald her official start in the industry. His Band won the Battle of the Bands on several occasions.
