Rufus Thomas, Jr. (March 26, 1917 – Dec. 15, 2001)

Rhythm and Blues, Funk, Soul and Blues Singer/Songwriter, Dancer, DJ and Comic Entertainer, Rufus Thomas, was a mentor to other Artist (Otis Redding and other Stax Records alumni) and helped with the careers of his daughter, Carla Thomas and his other children, Vaneese Thomas and Marvell Thomas. He is remembered for his Novelty Dance hits and his overall performances in the various facets of the entertainment industry.
