William Howard "Monk" Montgomery (October 10, 1921 – May 20, 1982)

Jazz Double Bass Player, Pioneer of the Electric Bass and brother of Guitarist Wes Montgomery, Monk Montgomery, is reported by some to be the first Jazz Artist to record using the Electric Bass. He worked as a Band member, Sideman and a Solo Artist from the 1950's to the late 1970's.
