Jazz Greats: Barry Harris

Barry Doyle Harris (born Detroit , Michigan, December 15, 1929)

Jazz Pianist, Bandleader, Composer, Arranger and Educator, Barry Harris, started out in the 1950's as a sideman to Miles Davis, Sonny Stitt and others. Over the following years his working with Cannonball Adderly, Illinois Jacquet, Coleman Hawkins, etc. led to his extensive solo catalog and much revered teaching techniques. He remains active mostly as a Jazz Tutor. Please take a listen here and have a sweet Saturday: Stella my starlight, I didn't know what time it was, Woody 'n' you and Star eyes
