Archie Shepp (born May 24, 1937) 


Jazz Saxophonist, Pianist and Professor, Archie Shepp, released Afrocentric tinged pieces during the 1960's. He has worked both as a Professor of Music and a Professor of African American Studies at different institutions. His works with John Coltrane are well regarded, as is his Avant Garde Jazz pieces.
