Thaddeus Joseph "Thad " Jones (March 28, 1923 – August 20, 1986)


Self taught, Jazz Trumpeter, Cornet Player, Flugelhorns Player, Composer, Teacher and Bandleader, Thad Jones, wrote many Compositions for the Count Basie Orchestra. Co-led the Thad Jones/Mel Davis Orchestra and also led a successful Danish Big Band during the 1970's while living in Denmark. He taught at the William Peterson College and continued working until his death from cancer in 1986.
