Tribute Mondays: Willie Mabon

Willie James Mabon (October 24, 1925 – April 19, 1985)

R&B Singer/Songwriter and Pianist, Willie Mabon was a hit maker for Chess Records during the start of the Rock and Roll era. Failure of his 1960's recordings led to his decline in music. He moved to Paris in the 1970's to tour and record and died there in 1985. His songs has been covered by many (Sting, Rod Stewart, Freddie King and others). Thanks for your contribution Mr. Mabon, you are appreciated. Please take a listen here and have a sweet Monday: Seventh son, Just got some, Poison ivy, I'm mad and I don't know
