Tribute Mondays: Bob Fuller

Bob Fuller (December 31, 1898 – unknown)

Blues and Jazz Saxophonist (Tenor, Soprano and Alto) and Clarinetist, Bob Fuller, mostly accompanied female Singers during the 1920's. He worked as a studio Saxophonist for both Ajaz and Victor Records and also as a Sideman. He released his own efforts with his Trio, but later left the industry to work in prisons for the New York City Police Department during the 1930's. Tribute Mondays: Porter Grainger

Porter Grainger (October 22, 1891 − c. 1955; fl New York)

Pianist, Bandleader, Songwriter, Playwright and Music Publisher, Porter Grainger, Co-Published a book (How to play the Blues like the Phonograph and Stage Artists) in 1926 and accompanied various Artists during the 1920's. He led Bands and recorded a few sides and Co-authored some Jazz Standards (Tain't Nobody's Business if I Do and others). Thanks for your contribution Mr. Grainger, you are appreciated. Ethel Finnie

Ethel V. Finnie (January 7, 1898 – May 1, 1981)

Classic Female Blues Singer, Ethel Finnie, was the wife of Porter Grainger. She graduated from New Orleans University and worked as a School Teacher before venturing into music. Daisy Martin

Daisy Martin (fl. c. (active between 1914 – c. 1925)

Actress and Classic Blues Singer, Daisy Martin, began her career in Vaudeville and went on to be one of the first Black Woman to sing Blues on a Recording in 1921.
