Tribute Mondays: Helen Gross

Helen Gross (born Hellen R. Gross , May 1896 – unknown)

Classic Female Blues Singer, Helen Gross, worked during the mid-1920s and released 27 songs. Her works included accompanyments with major Jazz stars such as James "Bubber" Miley, Louis Metcalf, Bob Fuller and others. She is remembered for her use of sound effects in her recordings and a vaudeville style arrangement of the Blues. Alice Leslie Carter (born in US)

Blues Singer, Alice Leslie Carter, was one of the early Classic Female Blues performers of the 1920's. She worked alongside most of the Blues Greats, but garnered less popularity. Bessie Brown

Bessie Brown (1890–1955)

Classic female Blues, Jazz and Cabaret Singer, "The Original" Bessie Brown, recorded between 1925 and 1929 and released songs under different names (Sadie Green, Caroline Lee and Helen Richards). She began in Vaudeville and continued into Cabaret, touring and Recording. Her works were re-released in the 1990's.
