Leroy Carr

Leroy Carr (March 27, 1905 – April 29, 1935)


Blues Singer/Songwriter and Pianist, Leroy Carr, developed the singing technique that influenced, Nat King Cole, Ray Charles and others. He also inspired Artist with his  piano compositions and his songs have been covered by many  (Robert Johnson, Eric Clapton, Memphis Slim and others). His alcoholic past gave him Nephritis (inflammation of the kidney) and he died aged 30 years old.
