Columbus Calvin "Duke" Pearson, Jr (August 17, 1932 – August 4, 1980)

Jazz Pianist, Trumpet Player, Composer and Record Producer, Duke Pearson, worked extensively at Blue Note as a A&R and Producer for his Albums and other label mates' Albums. He went into teaching in the early part of the 1970's. He died from Multiple Sclerosis in 1980; please take a listen here and have a sweet Saturday: Blues for Alvina and Jeannine
