Jazz Greats: Beaver Harris

William Godvin "Beaver" Harris (April 20, 1936 – New York, New York , December 22, 1991)


Jazz Drummer, Beaver Harris, began his career as a Baseball player in the Kansas City Monarchs and moved on to being a Drummer after his time in the Army in 1963. His work included session work and tours with many (Marion Brown, Dexter Gordon, Alber Ayler, Joe Henderson, Freddie Hubbard, Clifford Jordan, Thelonious Monk and others). He died of prostate cancer in 1991.
