Jazz Greats: Max Roach

Maxwell Lemuel "Max" Roach (January 10, 1924 – August 16, 2007)

The word pioneer is so overused, but Max Roach deserves this title when discussing any part of the Bebop Genre, after all he changed the way Drums where played forever. Please take a listen here and have a dreamy Saturday: Solitude (with Duke Ellington and Charles Mingus) , Fleurette Africaine/ African Flower (with Duke Ellington and Charles Mingus)  ,and The Drum also Waltzes
