Holloway (May 31, 1927 – February 25, 2012)


Jazz Saxophonist, Red Holloway, played Banjo and Harmonica as a child, but took up the Tenor Saxophone in his teen years. At aged 19 years old he joined the US Army and after completing his time, he worked as a Sideman to many (Dexter Gordon, Roosevelt Sykes, Aretha Franklin, Willie Dixon, Billie Holiday, Muddy Waters, Chuck Berry, Lloyd Price and many others) and toured alongside numerous Artists. He released Albums as a leader from 1963 onwards; he died in 2012.
