William Barron, Jr. (March 27, 1927 – September 21, 1989)

Jazz Tenor and Soprano Saxophonist and Educator, Bill Barron, was active from 1959, working as a Sideman and Quartet Leader. He also taught at City College and was the Chairman of the Music Department at Wesleyan University. Free Jazz Trio, The Revolutionary Ensemble, had a successful 6 year period between 1971 and 1977 that yielded numerous respected pieces. They reunited in 2004, but the Groups new run was cut short by the deaths of all members; beginning  in 2007,with the last being in 2015.
