Reggae Singer, Carl Dawkins, began his career as an early supporter of the Rastafarian ideals
scoring hits. But was jailed for Marijuana possession, which slowed his budding career. He returned to recording after serving time and worked with The Wailers in the 1970s, but failed to gain traction. He remains active and still has not achieved his deserved level of success. Alton McClain and Destiny

Disco Girl Trio, Alton McClain and Destiny, scored a hit with their first Album, but was dropped from their Label when their second Album didn't sell well. Members of the Trio then went on to other ventures; Alton McClain recorded as a Gospel Singer, D'marie Warren and Robyrda Stiger joined the Girl Group, Krystol. Marlowe Morris (May 16, 1915 – May 28, 1978)

Jazz Pianist and Organist, Marlowe Morris, played with Coleman Hawkins, Al Sears, Sister Rosetta Tharpe, Tiny Grimes and many others and also led a trio in the 1960's. Sidney "Big Sid " Catlett (January 17, 1910 – March 25, 1951)


Jazz Drummer, Sid Catlett, was regarded for his versatility. He began in the 1920's and was a Sideman to Benny Goodman, Duke Ellington, Dizzy Gillespie, Fletcher Henderson and many others. He was able to switch from Jazz to the spin-of Genre, Bebop, with superb technical prowess. He died of an heart attack at aged 41 years old in 1951. Jazz, Blues and Boogie Woogie Pianist and Singer, Sugar Chile Robinson, began is career as a child prodigy. He was self - taught and used techniques that included slapping the Piano keys with his elbows and fists. He worked with Lionel Hampton, Count Basie, Billy Holiday and others from 1945 (at aged 7 years old) into the 1950's. He took a break in 1952 and went on to further his studies. Blues and Folk Musician, Singer and Songwriter, Elizabeth Cotten, was a self taught left-handed Guitarist that played the right-handed Guitar upside down. She invented the "Cotten Picking Style" (in which her fingers played the Bass lines and her thumb played the melody) that has influenced many Artists. She left music at aged 17 after marrying and worked as a maid for many years. After her return from a 27 year break, she gained much attention and continued on for many years.
