Jazz Greats: Blue Mitchell

Richard Allen "Blue" Mitchell (March 13, 1930 – May 21, 1979)


Jazz, Rhythm and Blues, Soul, Rock and Funk Trumpeter, Blue Mitchell, was a prominent Bandleader and sideman that made a great impact in the Jazz genre. His body of work from 1958 to 1978, rivals many who had a longer stint. He died from cancer at aged 49 years old in 1979. Please take a listen here and have a Merry Christmas: Blue's mood,

Multi-instrumentalist and Singer/Songwriter, King Sunny Adé, is a pioneer of Modern World Music. He is noted for his introduction of other instruments into the Juju genre, his numerous contributions to the international music landscape and his influence on Nigerian Artist.
