Sister Wynona Carr

Wynona Merceris Carr (August 23, 1923 – May 11, 1976)

Gospel, R&B and Rock and Roll Singer/Songwriter, Sister Wynona Carr, released Gospel Records from the late 1940's to the 1950's. She later tried other genres of music, but was hindered when she contracted tuberculosis. After further failures on a separate Label, she faded from the music scene and died in 1976. Her music has since gained a following with the release of CD compilations. Please take a listen here and have a relaxing Sunday: Should I ever love again, Nursery rhyme rock, Dragnet for Jesus, Operator, I heard the news (Jesus is coming again), There is rest for the weary, Please Mr. Jailer and The ball game
