Jazz Drummer and Vocalist, Cee Pee Johnson, was active in the 1930's and worked as a Sideman and Bandleader. He played regularly at the Onyx Club, Paradise Club and Del Mar Club during the 1940's. Eddie Calhoun (Nov. 13, 1921, Clarksdale, Mississippi, US– Jan. 27, 1993, Paradise Lake, Mississippi, US)

Jazz Double Bassist, Eddie Calhoun, was a Sideman to many (Johnny Griffin, Roy Eldridge, Billie Holiday, Miles Davis, and others) from the late 1940's to the late 1960's, and then ran a Night Club. He began leading a Sextet in the 1970's, but never recorded as a leader. Jazz Pianist and Bandleader, Wilbert Baranco, worked as a Sideman in the 1930's before forming his own Band, continuing into the 1940's. After stints in Military Bands during World War II. Lawrence Benjamin Brown (August 29, 1893 – December 25, 1972)

Singer, Composer and Pianist, Lawrence Benjamin Brown, arranged many Negro Spirituals and was a main accompanist for Paul Robeson. He was a regarded connoisseur of Folk music. He worked as a elevator operator to cover various cost while studying in Boston. He then went on to many performances, including one at Buckingham Palace in 1921. Jazz Greats: Reb Spikes

Benjamin Franklin "Reb" Spikes (October 31, 1888 – February 24, 1982

Jazz Saxophonist, Songwriter, Drummer and Entrepreneur, Reb Spikes, was active from the 1910's onwards. He and his brother John Published music, ran a music shop and owned a Record company that Kid Ory's Creole Orchestra recorded with. He is listed as co-writer on songs by others as well as the Jazz Standard Someday sweetheart (Jelly Roll Morton's version 1923 or 1926). He worked as a Promoter in the 1930's and helped with Jelly Roll Morton's comeback in the 1940's.
