Tribute Mondays: Jon Hendricks

John Carl Hendricks (September 16, 1921 – November 22, 2017)

Jazz Lyricist and Singer, Jon Hendricks, was one of the originators of Vocalese (adding lyrics to existing instrumental songs and replacing many instruments with Vocalist). He was also regarded for his Scat Singing prowess. He began his career at age 7 in the 1920's and continued until his death at age 96 in 2017. He taught at the University of Toledo and crafted many Vocalese lyrics that was much revered. Thanks for contribution Mr. Hendricks, you are appreciated.
