Leon Haywood

Otha Leon Haywood (February 11, 1942 – April 5, 2016)

Funk and Soul Singer, Songwriter, Piano Player, Keyboard Player and Record Producer, Leon Haywood, began his run in 1963 and is known for his 1975 hit (I Want'a Do Something Freaky to you) which has been sampled by Hip Hop Producers. His early career included accompanist work with Gutta Slim, Sam Cooke and others. He had is own Production company that was started in 1967. He became a star in the 1970's with a new sound. He also wrote and produced "She's a bad mama jama" by Carl Carter. Mr. Haywood died in 2016.
