Jazz Greats: Eddie Calhoun

Eddie Calhoun (Nov. 13, 1921, Clarksdale, Mississippi, US– Jan. 27, 1993, Paradise Lake, Mississippi, US)

Jazz Double Bassist, Eddie Calhoun, was a Sideman to many (Johnny Griffin, Roy Eldridge, Billie Holiday, Miles Davis, and others) from the late 1940's to the late 1960's, and then ran a Night Club. He began leading a Sextet in the 1970's, but never recorded as a leader. He died in 1993; please take a listen here and have a beautiful Saturday: Concert by the Sea (Erroll Garner full Album 1955), Easy to remember (with Johnny Hartman) and Shuckin' ( Willis Jackson)
