Tribute Mondays: Von Freeman

Earle Lavon " Von" Freeman Sr. (October 3, 1923 – August 11, 2012)

Hard Bop Jazz Tenor Saxophonist, Von Freeman, started out at the age of 16 years old in an Orchestra and was part of the US Navy during World War II. He had a stint with the Sun Ra Band and recorded as a Solo Performer and also as a Sideman from the 1950's into the 1970's. He was also regarded for his mentorship of younger Musicians.
