Sidney "Big Sid " Catlett (January 17, 1910 – March 25, 1951)


Jazz Drummer, Sid Catlett, was regarded for his versatility. He began in the 1920's and was a Sideman to Benny Goodman, Duke Ellington, Dizzy Gillespie, Fletcher Henderson and many others. He was able to switch from Jazz to the spin-of Genre, Bebop, with superb technical prowess. He died of an heart attack at aged 41 years old in 1951.
