E. T. Mensah

Emmanuel Tettey Mensah, best known as E. T. Mensah (31 May 1919 – 19 July 1996)

The "King of Highlife Music" (Akan [A Ghanaian Tribe] music played with Western instruments), E. T. Mensah, was the leader of the Band, The Tempos, that was formed in 1946. He opened a pharmacy to fund his musical career during rough times.
He played the Flute, Piccolo (half size Flute) and the Alto Saxophone and continued on for years even after the Highlife style of Music declined. He died in 1996; please take a listen here and have an enjoyable weekend: Abele, Yabomisa, Day by day, Medzi Medzi and Ghana Freedom
