Tribute Mondays: Johnny Jenkins

Johnny Edward Jenkins (March 5, 1939 – June 26, 2006)

Left-handed Blues Guitarist, Johnny Jenkins, was instrumental in the career of Otis Redding and was also a major influence on Jimmy Hendrix. Otis Redding got his break being a part of Jenkins' Band (The Pinetoppers) and using studio time left over by Johnny Jenkins who also played on his track "These arms of mine". Otis' popularity overshadowed Jenkin's career and he was sidelined at the label that they were both signed to. He made a comeback during the 1990's after a 26 year break. After releasing a few Albums, he died of a stroke in 2006. Thanks for your contribution Mr. Jenkins, you are appreciated. Please take a listen here and have a sweet Monday:
