Horace Ward Martin Tavares Silver (Sept. 2, 1928 – June 18, 2014)

Jazz Pianist, Tenor Saxophonist, Composer and Arranger, Horace Silver, was an Hard Bop pioneer, that innovated the use of the Piano in Jazz compositions. He influenced many, worked as a sideman and wrote and recorded Jazz Standards. He was also instrumental in launching the careers of young musicians that passed through his Band.
