Bertha "Chippie" Hill (March 15, 1905 – May 7, 1950)

Blues and Vaudeville Singer and Dancer, Bertha "Chippie" Hill, was active between the 1920's and the 1950's and worked extensively with Louis Armstrong. She began her run at aged 14 as a Dancer and moved on to Singing in later years, recording Solos and Duets with Tampa Red and Lonnie Johnson. She retired in the 1930's to raise her seven children. She made a comeback between 1946 and 1950, but was run over and killed by a car at aged 45 years old in 1950. Thanks for your contribution Miss Hill, you are appreciated. Please take a listen here and have a nice monday: Hard times Blues (with Tampa Red 1928), Trouble in mind (with Louis Armstrong on Cornet), Pratt City Blues, Georgia man and Low land Blues
