Wesley "Kid" Wilson

Wesley Shellie Wilson (October 1, 1893 – October 10, 1958)

Blues and Jazz Singer and Songwriter, Piano Player and Organ Player, Wesley "Kid" Wilson, was renown for his stagecraft and performances between the 1910's and 1930's. He was the husband of famed female performer, Coot Grant, with whom he toured and recorded with. He and his wife recorded with Fletcher Henderson, Mezz Mezzrow, Sidney Bechet and Louis Armstrong and appeared a film. Wilson co-wrote more than 400 songs with his wife. Most of these were recorded by many other Artists (Billie Holiday, Nina Simone, Louis Armstrong and others).
