Jazz Greats: J. C. Higginbotham

Jay C. (Jack) Higginbotham (May 11, 1906 – May 26, 1973)

Jazz Trombonist, J. C. Higginbotham, was regarded for his swinging delivery. He played in Bands in the 1930's and the 1940's, and led Bands from the 1950's to the 1960's. He also recorded and released some of his own efforts in the 1930's. His Style of playing contributed to the acceptance of the Trombone as a melodic instrument in the Jazz Genre.
