Jazz Greats: James P. Johnson

James P. Johnson (James Price Johnson, or Jimmy Johnson; February 1, 1894 – November 17, 1955) 


       James P. Johnson helped in the movement of Ragtime to the Jazz Genre with his Stride style of Piano Playing.  He influenced Count BasieDuke EllingtonArt Tatum and Fats Waller.
