Fred McDowell (January 12, 1904 – July 3, 1972)

Hill Country Blues Singer and Guitar Player, Mississippi Fred McDowell, played slide guitar using a pocket knife and a beef rib in his early years. He is credited with teaching Bonnie Raitt slide Guitar techniques and his music has been covered by the Rolling Stones and others. Thanks for your contribution Mr. McDowell, you are appreciated.
