Wooden Joe Nicholas (Sept. 23, 1883 – Nov. 17, 1957)
Jazz Trumpeter and Cornetist, Wooden Joe Nicholas, worked with King Oliver in 1915 and was most active in New Orleans. He began recording in 1945 and so he missed the opportunity to showcase his regarded volume and endurance that was evident in his younger years. He was Clarinetist Albert Nicholas' uncle; he died in 1957. Please take a listen here and have a sweet Saturday: The Lord will make a way (with Ann Cook) and Eh La Bas
