Curtis Amy (Oct. 11, 1929 – June 5, 2002)

West Coast Jazz Tenor Saxophonist and Educator, Curtis Amy, worked on Albums such as "Tapestry" by Carol King and Lou Rawls' "Black and Blue" and "Tobacco Road", and had stints in some Jazz Bands. He  also  collaborated with Marvin Gaye, Smokey Robinson, Tammy Terrell and others and released his solo efforts alongside these other projects. Jazz Greats: Slam Stewart

Leroy Eliott  Stewart
(Sept. 21, 1914 – Dec. 10, 1987)


Jazz Bass Player, Slam Stewart, was a part of a successful Duo (Slim and Slam) in the 1930's and was a regular session musician for Lester Young, Coleman Hawkins, Art Tatum and others during the 1940's. He taught at the Binghamton University and Yale University and his Bass playing   techniques are still regarded years after his death. Sheila Escovedo (born December 12, 1957)


Singer / Songwriter, Drummer    and  Percussionist, Sheila E, worked with her musician father and Jazz and R&B Acts (Alphonso Johnson, Herbie Hancock, Diana Ross, Marvin Gaye, Lionel Richie and others) during the 1970's. She had a successful solo career in the 1980's working  alongside Prince. After her Prince related years were over she moved on to working with Phil Collins, Ringo Starr and others and also released more solo efforts.
