Arthur Prysock Jr. (January 1, 1924  or 1929 – June 14, 1997)


Baritone Jazz and R&B Singer, Arthur Prysock, was a popular live  performer whose catalog spanned Jazz, R&B, Easy Listening and Disco. His early 1940's efforts were as part of Buddy Johnson's Band and he later scored solo hits into his latter years. The Savoy Sultans that ran from 1937 to 1946 was the original incarnation of the ensemble that was founded by Al Cooper. Rhythm and Blues and Soul Singer, James Carr, was described as a "pure vocalist" that scored hits for Goldwax Records after being turned down by Stax Records.
