The Mills Blue Rhythm Band

1930's Big Band, The Mills Blue Rhythm Band, originated in Harlem. They went through numerous name changes and also worked uncredited behind Louis Armstrong and were based at The Cotton Club. They recorded 150 Sides for numerous Labels (Brunswick, Columbia, Victor, all 7 ARC Labels and others). They scored hits but never attained prominence. Leroy Roscoe Garnett (August 6, 1897 – January 3, 1933)

Boogie - Woogie and Ragtime Pianist and Songwriter, Blind Leroy Garnett, recorded music that was called Barrellhouse (Melodic treble work combined with a thunderous driving Boogie type Bass).
