James T. Woodley (Dec. 21, 1929 – Nov. 20, 1996)

Rhythm and Blues Singer, Singin' Sammy Ward, worked at Motown Records and its subsidiary, Tamla Records in the early 1960's, after doing the club scene during the 1950's. He left the industry due to limited success, but was rediscovered in the late 1980's and returned to recording and releasing a few Singles. George Emanuel Lewis (born July 14, 1952)

Composer, Electronic Performer, Installation Artist, Trombone Player and Scholar in the fields of improvisation and experimental music, George Lewis, is a Pioneer of Computer music. He has recorded and performed with many and his also a member of a few Orchestras. He released his debut Album in 1976 and released his last in 2014. He is a the Professor of American Music at Columbia University and taught at the University of California.
