Jazz Greats: Dizzy Gillespie

John Birks "Dizzy" Gillespie ( October 21, 1917 – January 6, 1993) 



      Dizzy Gillespie, "the Ambassador of Jazz", the man who taught many musicians how to play Bebop ( Miles Davis, Fats Navarro, etc.) is really a special force in the Jazz Genre. Through his many endeavors he helped to develop the Afro-Cuban jazz style, discovered Arturo Sandoval and added a lot to the music we  know today.
