Lionel Brockman Richie, Jr. (born June 20, 1949)



The Commodores



       The Extremely Talented Lionel Richie helped to define the soundtrack of the Eighties and along with The Band, The Commodores, released some classic Funk and Soul hits in the Seventies. He not only crafted Beautiful songs for the group and himself as a solo Artist, but Wrote and Produced for other Major Artist (he produced an entire Album for Kenny Rogers). The Commodores were one of the few Motown groups to have all their members play instruments;
