Tribute Mondays: Little Ann Bridgeforth

Ann Bridgeforth (born 22 Mar. 1945 – 26 Jan. 2003)

Soul Singer, Little Ann, was a part of the industry for a short time during the 1960's. She worked in Clubs and recorded an Album in 1969, but only one single was released. She left the industry but one of her songs were rediscovered in the early 1980's and became an hit on the Northern Soul scene. In 1990 the master tape of her Album was found and released alongside her other unreleased material. This led to her performing in the UK shortly before her death in 2003. Earl Klugh

Earl Klugh (born Sept. 16, 1953)

Acoustic Guitarist and Composer, Earl Klugh, is known for his Smooth Jazz and Jazz Fusion efforts. He began recording at aged 16 and has worked on Albums by Yusef Lateef, George Benson and others. He has recorded over 30 Albums and has had commercial and critical success, as well as Awards. His song "A time for love" was sampled on Raekwon's "Ice Cream" single. Jazz Greats: Clarence Williams

Clarence Williams (Oct. 6, 1898  or Oct. 8, 1893 – Nov. 6, 1965)

Jazz Pianist, Composer, Vocalist, Theatrical Producer and Publisher, Clarence Williams, started out in a Minstrel show at aged 12 and then went on to shoes shining, working as a Singer and a Master of Ceremonies. He established his Music Publishing Company in 1915, supervised African American recordings for Okeh Records in the 1920's and led studio bands for Okeh, Columbia and other Record Labels. He Produced early recordings by Louis Armstrong, Sidney Bechet, Bessie Smith and others. He continued on with his career recording his own efforts up to 1943 and then retired, he died in 1965. Rapper, Cappadonna, is a member of the Wu-Tang Clan and has been active since the early 1990's. He was replaced by Method Man when he went to prison and later made appearances on Albums by the Group and Group members. He released is debut Album in 1998 and still remains active.
