Francisco Raúl Gutiérrez Grillo (February 16, 1908 – April 19, 1984)

Latin Jazz Musician, Machito, refined Afro-Cuban Jazz and created both Cubop and Salsa Music. He was the founder of Machito and the Afro-Cubans and performed as a Vocalist, Trumpeter and Saxophonist. His music influenced Dizzy Gillespie, Charlie Parker and many others. His many recordings were much loved and are still revered by many.
