Tribute Mondays: Clarence Holiday

Clarence Halliday ( Baltimore , July 23, 1898 – Dallas , March 1, 1937)

Banjo Player and Rhythm Guitarist, Clarence Holiday played in Eubie Blakes Band at an young age. And went on to work with the Fletcher Henderson Orchestra, Benny Carter, Louis Metcalf, Don Redman and others. He was the father of Billie Holiday, whom he fathered at age 16 years old with 18 years old mother, Saddie Harris. He died in 1937 of Pneumonia after being exposed to mustard gas while serving in World War I years earlier. Thanks for your contribution Mr. Holiday, you are appreciated.
