Jazz Greats: Sahib Shihab

Sahib Shihab (born Edmund Gregory; 23 June 1925, Savannah, Georgia,US – 24 October 1989, Nashville, Tennessee, US )


Jazz and Hard Bop Saxophonist (Baritone, Alto and Soprano) and Flautist, Sahib Shihah, began his over 40 years long career at 13 years old. He released his own recordings as a Bandleader and also worked as a Jazz sideman and Pop and Rock session musician. He lived in Scandinavia beginning in 1959 after fleeing racism in America.
