John Byas (born on November 18, 1961)
Hip Hop DJ and Producer, Jazzy Jay, was a protégé of Afrika Bambaataa and began his tenure during the 1970's at aged 13 years old. He appeared in the Beat Street film in 1984 and assisted in the formation of Def Jam Recordings. He also went on to Produce early works for Fat Joe, A Tribe Called Quest, Brand Nubian and others.
