Curtis J. Mosby (July 7, 1888 in Kansas City, Missouri – June 25, 1957 in
San Francisco)
Jazz Drummer, Bandleader and Businessman, Curtis Mosby, toured during the 1910's and led his own Ensemble into the 1920's. He then opened a Record Store and a few Nightclubs and also appeared in movies with his band in 1929. After fighting Bankruptcy in the 1930's, he lost control of his clubs in 1947 when he was jailed for 2 years for tax evasion. He died in 1957.
