The Brothers Johnson

Funk and R&B Band, The Brothers Johnson, had hits between the mid 1970's and early 1980's. They backed Bobby Womack and The Supremes in their early years and worked on Albums by Billy Preston. They split in 1982, but had subsequent team ups over the years. Band member Louis Johnson died in 2015. Their have been 3 incarnations of the Group in 1994, 1995 and 2007 respectively, and each time they released a regarded single. Their Producers includes Q-Tjp, DJ Premier and 9th Wonder. Dan Burley & His Skiffle Boys

Lexington, Kentucky – October 29, 1962 in Chicago , Illinois)


Dan Burley & His Skiffle Boys was led by Pianist, Composer and Journalist, Dan Burley, whom worked as an Editor at many African American Publications (New York Age, Amsterdam News, Ebony, Jet and Duke). They released Skiffle Music (Jazz, Blues, Folk and American Folk influences played with homemade improvised instruments) during the 1940's. The Band seemingly ended in the 1950's.
