Arthur Lee Maye and The Crowns had a lead singer that was also a professional Baseball Player (Milwaukee Braves) in the minor and major leagues for 18 years. They recorded sides during his baseball off season and released material on various Labels. Founding member of The Original Savoy Sultans and Jazz Multi Instrumentalist (Trombone, Tuba and Double Bass), Grachan Moncur ll, worked on radio stations and recorded heavily as a session player for other Artist (Mildred Bailey, Teddy Wilson, Bud Freeman and others). But was well received in the 1990's after living in Paris (France), Nairobi (Kenya) and Brussels (Belgium). His main influences were John Coltrane and Albert Ayler.
