R&B Group, 4 P.M., was active between 1991 and 2008. They scored a much remembered hit (Sukiyaki (remake)) in 1995. Their name 'For Positive Music' meant their music was non violent, non degrading to women and void of explicit lyrics. They continued on with Album releases, with their last being in 2008. Richard Serrell (Born March 1, 1968 (age 51)

California Rapper, Richie Rich, influenced Snoop Dogg's style, being active since 1986. He was a member of the Hip Hop Group, 415, that faded after he went to prison in 1990. After his release from prison he was featured on songs by 2 Pac and others and eventually signed to a major label, where he released well received material. He now runs his own Label, Ten-Six Records,  and remains active. Tribute Mondays: Coot Grant / Leola B. Wilson

Leola B. Henton or Pettigrew (June 11 or 17, 1893 – December 26, 1970)

Classic Female Blues, Country Blues and Vaudeville Singer and Songwriter, Coot Grant / Leola B. Wilson, had a successful tenure with her husband, Wesley "Kid" Wilson and also as a Solo Artist from the 1910's to the early 1930's. She worked in Vaudeville in America at aged 7 years old and toured South Africa and Europe in 1901 at aged 8 years old, with Mayme Remington's Pickaninnies. She recorded under numerous aliases from the 1910's onwards. She appeared in movies and was also a Guitar player. She and her husband wrote over 400 songs. Singer and Actress, Miki Howard, is the daughter of Josephine Howard of the Caravans and Clay Graham of the Pilgrim Jubilees. She began her career in the Group,  Side Effect,  in 1979. In 1985 her Solo career took off and garnered many R&B hits. She appeared in the movies Malcolm X (as Billie Holiday) and Poetic Justice. Jazz Greats: Shirley Clay

Shirley Clay (died February 7, 1951)

Jazz Trumpeter, Shirley Clay, Got his start as a teenager in 1920 working with others ( Carroll Dickerson, Clifford King and others) on Tours and recording with Louis Armstrong in 1927. He was also a Studio Musician for Earl Hines, Billlie Holiday, Don Redman and others. From the 1940's up to his death in 1951, he led his own Band, worked as a Sideman and continued his Studio session work.
